"meet Amelia..."

...Didn't I hear Sunday's are rest days? Looks like I am hearing voices in my head.

Sunday was no special day... it was work day (somehow, I feel like a 7/11 store!). What was different about today is that I get to spend time with my camera, with my clients, and my passion in photography.

Meet Amelia... bubbly, fun, free spirited teenager. Her mom (my co-worker at my full time job) approached me one day and wanted to give her daughter a birthday gift. Not the normal birthday gift we receive every year - it was not wrapped, not a greeting card, nor was it a giftcard. I was puzzled and confused... a studio head shot as a birthday gift - something new I guess, what the heck I said to myself. "I'll do it", I replied.

I arrived at their place with my "studio on the move" packed in my trunk. As I sat down with Amelia and her mom, I soon realized why mom gave this as her gift. Talk about Mother Daughter relationship... they laughed, giggled, gave funny and dirty looks at one another - they were both having fun. It was like 2 teens entering a photo booth busting out their funny faces (except it was only Amelia getting photographed). Their relationship was filled with love and trust.

To Amelia - Happy Birthday, continue to be a blessing to your family and friends... and never forget to have fun (just like your giggles during the shoot).

To Mom - Happy Birthday to you too... sure it's no joke giving birth and bringing kids up :) Continue having a wonderful relationship, and always remember what Amelia means to you and your family... "work of the Lord".
