Weekends are always fun... beaches, barbeques, parties, and shopping. We wake up and jump out of our beds like it's just another day.
No questions asked - after a long week at work/school, we do need to enjoy and relax.
However, have we at least stopped with our fast paced lives to give at least say a simple prayer of thanks? A prayer thanking Him for the weekend? Better yet that we are still fine and dandy, and that our families are alive and healthy. Sometimes such enjoyment overshadows the real meaning of life... that is, life on earth is temporal. Eventually we all die, but ask yourself... "Am I ready to die?"... "Have I done acts of kindness?"... "Have I been Holy?"
It's not too late... and you are not alone. We may lack nice cars, or savings account that can feed a whole Third world country but at the end of the day it all boils down to...
"What legacy have we left?"
"Was our existence lived as it is... to do good and avoid evil?"
